Board Highlights for June 2008
Treasurer’s Report:
We collected an additional $7,000 toward this year’s budget deficit as a result of a plea for increased pledges and the collection taken on Sunday, June 8th. This will cut the projected annual operating deficit down to approximately $7,500.
Total pledges for next year have come in at $235,103.
Election of Officers for the 2008-09 year:
The following Officers were elected to the Board of Trustees:
President: Bob Wallis
Vice President: Suzan Ayers
Secretary: Dale Abbott
Additionally Alan Hunt was re-appointed as Treasurer
Safe Church:
Forms for volunteer and paid staff application forms are very close to being finalized and will be distributed to Board members for review as the next step in implementing the Safe Church Policy.
Other Matters:
Diana Artz-Iffland has agreed to chair the Personnel Committee.
The Long-Range Planning Committee expects to be meeting with the architect sometime in the September/October timeframe to begin discussions regarding how the church building may be modified to better meet the needs of the church.
Returning member, John Neuhaus, was appointed to the Endowment Committee
A new policy regarding how committees may represent themselves and the church in outside events has been drafted by the Board and will be circulated to all committee chairs for review and input before being implemented.
