You can earn cash rewards for People’s Church by shopping at Meijer with a Meijer Community Rewards (MCR) account. Purchases paid with a linked Meijer Credit Card earn 1%, and purchases paid in cash or with a debit card earn 0.5% Please note that you cannot earn rewards when paying with a check or a non-Meijer credit card. Once enrolled in MCR you can earn cash rewards on gasoline and convenience store purchases, groceries, health and beauty care, pharmacy, apparel, general merchandise, Meijer online purchases, and gift cards. People’s Church will receive a monthly statement.
Sign up online at http://www.meijer.com/rewards to receive a Meijer 1 Card (to be used with cash purchases or debit card purchases), or apply for a Meijer Credit Card at your local store or at http://www.Meijer.com/creditcard. The Peoples Church code is 933045. Besides yielding a higher rate for the church with the Meijer Credit Card , Meijer also offers promotions and frequent discount days for Meijer Credit Card members which include discounts of 15% for one day on general merchandise and 5% on groceries.
Be Sure to use your card correctly:
- Meijer 1 Card members: In order to receive credit for your purchases, you must give your Meijer 1 Card to the cashier to scan BEFORE your last product is scanned for purchase. Once payment is accepted, it is too late.
- Meijer Credit Card members: If you have a Meijer Credit Card, you should swipe it to register your payment, sign your name, and your contribution to the Community Rewards Program is noted on your written receipt.
- If using a PIN-debit card or cash to pay for gas, you must pay inside at the register (not at the pump). The cashier will need to swipe your Meijer 1 Card to link the purchase to your account.
Community Rewards will be given for most purchases at Meijer. Exceptions are gasoline, postage, isurer-paid prescriptions, layaway, sales tax, car wash, and online purchases. Shoe repair may not qualify. You can track your earnings for the church online if you wish at Meijer.com/rewards. It's fun to watch your own contributions grow over time. It's also printed on your receipts.

eScrip Fundraising Program

If you shop at Harding's Market Place or make online purchases, there is another program known as eScrip. You can register online at www.escrip.com . Our group name is " Peoples Church " (no apostrophe) and our ID# is 167302662. After registering, follow the instruction below.
For Harding’s Markets :
- Visit a Harding’s Market and request an eScrip Community Card
- Activate the card on-line at http://www.escrip.com or call 1-800- 931-6258
- Present your card everytime you shop. You can pay for your purchases anyway you like.
Hardings Contributes 1 to 4%. The more you spend, the more they give.
For Online Computer Purchases:
- You first must visit the eScrip web site before going to the merchant’s online web site.
- Go to http://www.escrip.com; you will be recognized and greeted in the upper right hand corner by name and the organization you support. If not, sign in.
- Click At theOnline Mall in the upper right hand corner. This takes you to a page with a list of merchants gouped by category, and also a product search window.
- Then select the merchant you want from a list, or search for a product type and select the merchant.
- Click on the Merchant and you are first taken to a page that tells you what percent is donated and any exclusions. Special offers from the merchant are also listed.
- You then click to go to the merchant’s web page, and anything purchased online will be credited to your eScrip account.
They have a large number of merchants that participate, including Lands End, Barnes and Noble, eBay, Office Max, Staples, and JCPenney. Contributions vary between 1 and 10%. Most are 3 to 5%, a very good deal for the church.
There is also the option of downloading a program that starts up whenever you start your computer. This program will automatically ask you if it can tell eScrip about your online purchases from participating merchants. That way you do not have to go to the eScrip site first.

There are also options for an eScrip credit card, but as always, carefully read any credit card agreements.
This program is rapidly evolving. There are a few local restaurants that participate in the program, after you register your regular credit card with eScrip.
